Amber Lynn

I strive to provide a welcoming and non-judgmental environment for clients as they seek wellness and support amongst life’s transitions and challenges. I enjoy working with couples and adults on a wide range of issues impacting well-being including, but not limited to, stress, trauma, communication and relationships, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, identity, mild
disordered eating, confidence, or just feeling “stuck” and dissatisfied with one’s direction in life.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2006 from Miami University and my Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University in 2021. To work with couples, I completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and leverage it in my work. To better support clients with past trauma, I obtained additional counseling education as an EMDRIA trained eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and training on an internal family systems (IFS) approach to EMDR. To support clients working on impulsive behaviors, intense emotional reactions, and interpersonal relationship issues, I underwent Behavior Tech’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Foundational Training.

In collaboration with the client, I tailor the treatment plan and counseling approach to each
client’s unique needs, drawing from tenets of different therapies. These may include cognitive
behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, IFS and parts work,
and motivational interviewing. As an experienced yoga teacher trained in advanced yoga
therapeutics, I utilize the mind-body practice of yoga and mindfulness as an adjunct treatment. I
believe animals can enhance and complement the benefits of traditional therapy and work with
my co-therapist Archer Ash, a Labrador retriever.

My passion for counseling developed from my own journey with chronic migraines, anxiety, and
relationships. I’m familiar with navigating careers and the workplace as a former IT consultant
and program manager in the fast-paced corporate world and I have experience with sports
performance as a former collegiate athlete and triathlete. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy
spending time with my loved ones, practicing yoga, strength training, cooking, gardening,
hiking, traveling, or curled up with my dogs and a good book.
