For over 26 years, Jeanne has provided individual, couple, and family group therapies for children, adolescents, and adults. Currently, Jeanne is Clinic Director, Case Manager and Owner of Lakeshore Professional Counseling located in Menominee Michigan; and is Clinical Director of Tri County Business/Industry Response Team for Critical Incidents.
Jeanne M. Harper is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Marinette Associate Degree : Psychology and Sociology and University of Wisconsin Green Bay Bachelor of Arts program in Thanatology: The Study of Death Education & Grief Counseling. She is also a graduate of Loyola University , New Orleans , LA , where she earned her Masters in Pastoral Studies: Family Ministry.
Harper worked as psychotherapist for ten years with Lutheran Social Services (1984 to 1994) and three and half years (1994-1997) with Utech Systems. Harper and Gil Garcia forming LPC bought Utech Systems outpatient mental health clinic. Garcia left December 31, 1999 and since then Harper is the Owner of LPC located in Menominee Michigan. Lakeshore Professional Counseling, Inc. has been providing counseling services and currently has four full time therapists.
Harper is the author of "Ethical and Spiritual Concerns: Sexuality and Spirituality - A Holistic Approach for the Living/Dying Client and Their Partner" a chapter in Death and Spirituality, a part of the Death, Value, and Meaning Series edited by Kenneth J. Doka with John D. Morgan, Published by Baywood Publishing Company, Inc. in February, 1999. She also published numerous articles and monographs on life, grief, death and suicide including being the co-author of the book HURTING YOURSELF, which is intended for teenagers who have attempted suicide and now in its 4th printing, published and distributed by Centering Corporation of Omaha Nebraska.
Harper is trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems – 2 year graduate program) EMDR (Certified Therapist in EMDR), Traumatic Stress (Board Certified and Graduate of UW Milwaukee Trauma Counseling I and II), Psychotherapy (Certified Diplomat in Psychotherapy), Death Education and Grief Counseling (Certified in Thanatology), Clinical Pastoral Education, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Art Therapy, Performax Behavioral Styles, and Youth Ministry.
She is a member of the Internal Family Systems Association, past President, past Treasurer and past IFSA Central Office Coordinator. Harper created and distributes the Basic Internal Family Systems Therapy PowerPoint Presentation CD Program from her training with Dr. Richard Schwartz of the Center for Self Leadership and edited by the CSL trainers. This CD is used by IFS Therapists throughout the world to inform their clients and other professionals about the basics in IFS Therapy.
She is a member of ASSOCIATION FOR DEATH EDUCATION AND COUNSELING since 1978; Board Member 1979-1992; Chapter Chair; Membership Services Chair 1990-till 1999, Special Interest Group Chair for Workplace Loss.
Harper trained in CISD through Jeff Mitchell Program – International CIS Foundation. Volunteer as the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Clinical Director for Northeast Wisconsin NEED Team for 7 years. She then created and trained other professionals for the Tri-County (Marinette, Menominee and Oconto) Business ‘n Industry Critical Response Team Director – from 1994 until the present.
Harper received the 1990 Wisconsin Award from the State Superintendent's YOUTH SUICIDE PREVENTION COUNCIL for dedication to youth suicide prevention. Served as State Coordinator for WISCONSIN YOUTH SUICIDE PREVENTION from 1985 through to present went it is now called Suicide Prevention Network, serving Marinette and Menominee Counties .
Harper initiated and developed HOPE, a local grief support program, now United Way funded, that serves the Menominee and Marinette Counties . She also was on the creation team of the local FISH program that serves the Marinette- Menominee area with free rides to doctors, and other free assistance: phone calls, etc. Harper also developed the BEREAVEMENT TEAM at her parish, Holy Family in Marinette , WI .
She was a long time member of NATIONAL SPEAKERS ASSOCIATION, AND WISCONSIN PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS ASSOCIATION until purchasing the Lakeshore Professional Counseling, Inc. She was State Board Member 1990 to 1995,
State Student Awards Chair 1992 to 1996. Through this experience, she is an international speaker, having presented throughout the USA , Canada , England , Israel and a one week educational whirlwind throughout Australia .

Harper served on the 1988 WI Department of Public Instruction Suicide Prevention Curriculum Guide Planning Committee and was WI Department of Public Instruction Faculty Member from 1986-1987 providing state-wide Suicide Prevention Workshops.
